NAPIM recognizes Resolute Oil’s Tom Gwizdalski with Pioneer Award

League City, TX – April 23, 2012 – The National Association of Printing Ink Manufactures (NAPIM) honored Tom Gwizdalski, MaxSol™ Business Manager of Resolute Oil, LLC with a Printing Ink Pioneer Award at their 96th annual convention in Palm Springs, CA on March 27. The award is given annually to select ink makers and suppliers in recognition of their long and dedicated service to the ink industry.

Tom began his career in 1979 as a process chemist for Allied Chemical in Chicago and over the years has held various technical positions in both the chemical and petroleum industries. In the late 1980’s he joined Pennzoil Company as the Lab Manager for their Magie Bros. division. Magie was well-known around the world for their supply of specialty petroleum oils for the manufacture of printing inks.
Tom’s growing responsibilities within the organization eventually lead to his role as General Manager, overseeing all facets of the Magie business.

After the Magie business was sold in 2008, Tom joined a set of former Pennzoil/Penreco alums at Bigler Specialty Oil, LP where he successfully introduced the MaxSol™ line of solvents to the ink industry. Today, Tom manages the MaxSol™ business for Resolute Oil, LLC which acquired the Bigler Oil group in late 2010.

“I’m honored to be recognized by such a great industry” said Gwizdalski, “especially when there are so many others deserving of this award. It is truly a surprise and I am very grateful.”
