Group I Base Oil

MaxPar® G1 Base Oils

Resolute Oil's MaxPar G1 and MaxPar G1 BS product lines are comprised of solvent-refined (Group I) paraffinic base oils and are available in varying viscosity. Group I base oils possess a high viscosity index (VI), higher flash points, excellent stability, low volatility, and great lubrication properties, making them prime candidates for use in automotive, rail, and marine lubricants.

Group I Base Oil Products

MaxPar® G1

MaxPar G1 products are solvent-neutral paraffinic base oils that are available in straight-cut and blended viscosities and are a good fit for use in lubricants, lubricant additives, process oils, and in chemical compounding industries.

What Is Group I Base Oil?

Group I base oils are produced through a solvent refining process and possess unique properties and characteristics that make them well suited for a wide variety of applications.

The solvent refining process begins with a sweet crude feedstock that undergoes fractional distillation before proceeding to a solvent extraction unit that removes much of the sulfur, aromatic, and nitrogen compounds.

After solvent extraction is complete, the stream of oil is sent through a dewaxing process to remove waxy paraffin molecules still present in the oil. The dewaxing process utilizes a lighter solvent in conjunction with a refrigerated chiller to precipitate and remove remaining paraffin content.
